Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions from Israeli sellers.
Onboarding
Do I need to pay a deposit?
No. Israeli local entity sellers are exempt from deposits — a unique benefit for the Israel market.
What's the commission rate?
Zero commission. You keep 100% of the sale price (excluding payment processing fees on the buyer's side, which are handled by the platform).
How long does the approval process take?
Typically several business days. The most common delay is document quality (blurry, cropped, or mismatched information). Submit clear, complete documents to speed it up.
Can I run multiple stores?
Yes, up to 6 stores per company entity across the entire AliExpress platform (this includes any stores you have in other AliExpress business modes).
Are there category restrictions?
No general category restrictions, except for special categories like health supplements, which require additional permission applications.
Products & Brand
Do I need a brand to sell?
Products with branding require brand authorization. If you own the brand, submit your trademark certificate. If you're a distributor, provide the full authorization chain.
What if my brand isn't in the platform's brand list?
You can add a new brand. Provide the trademark certificate or authorization documents during the application.
How long does brand authorization take?
3-5 business days for the full process.
Can I sell products with international brands like Nike or Apple?
These are high-risk brands available only by platform invitation. Contact Maya to ask about eligibility.
What if approval gets rejected?
You'll get a specific rejection reason. Most rejections are due to an incomplete authorization chain or a category mismatch. Fix the issue and reapply.
Fulfillment
Do I have to ship from Israel?
Yes, the GSP model requires local fulfillment from Israel inventory.
Can I use a 3PL?
Yes. Platform-authorized 3PLs (like Cainiao partner warehouses) qualify for a 50% reduction on logistics penalties.
What if I miss the shipment declaration deadline?
You'll receive a monetary penalty. The platform calculates penalties based on order value.
Can I appeal penalties?
Yes, penalties have built-in appeal channels through the seller dashboard.
Force majeure (storms, strikes) — am I exempt?
The platform reviews force majeure events case-by-case based on severity. Submit appeals with documentation.
Payments
What currency will I receive?
ILS (Israeli Shekels) for Israeli local entity sellers.
How long until I get paid?
15 days after the customer confirms receipt (T+15).
Can I get paid earlier?
Early payout is available for qualified sellers. It requires a platform risk assessment and may depend on your seller tier.
What if the bank account name doesn't match the company name?
Payouts may fail. The bank account must be in the registered company's name — no personal accounts, no related-company accounts.
Growth & Operations
How does the platform promote my products?
The platform runs advertising, seasonal campaigns, and traffic generation on your behalf. You don't manage ads directly.
What's the 30-day rule?
New sellers must publish at least one product within 30 days of approval, or the store will be closed. This is non-negotiable.
How do I level up to N2 / N3 / N4?
Hit GMV and product-publication targets during your 3-month new seller period. Specific targets are shown in your seller dashboard.
What's the Early Bird Plan?
Submit your strongest products for review. Approved products get a 1:1 traffic subsidy from the platform.
